The Bright Horizon campaign symbolizes the dawning of a new chapter for the May Center- one filled with growth, new opportunities, and transformative learning experiences. At the heart of this campaign is our commitment to providing the exceptional education offered by May Center to all students by enhancing our capacity to serve more children, educators, and families. We envision a future where every child can access the personalized learning and support they need to shine brightly on their journey.

Over the past decade, May Center has grown from a modest four-room tutoring center to a dynamic leader in New Mexico's educational community. This meteoric rise hasn't been incidental but is the result of our consistent dedication to our core pillars: literacy, empowerment, advocacy, and principles. With more than 1,000 students having benefited directly from our programs and over 17,000 teachers trained in the best literacy practices, our reach is undeniable.

With the opening of our new building, Phase I of the Bright Horizon campaign, we’ve taken an exciting first step toward meeting the growing needs of our students, staff, and programs like our acclaimed Teacher Institute. This expansion has already created more space for learning, collaboration, and innovation, setting the stage for even greater impact in the years ahead.

We’re 50% toward completing Phase I. With your generosity, we can complete all renovations and upgrades, and pay-off the purchase price.

As we look toward Phases II and III, we invite our community to help us continue this momentum and build a May Center capable of uplifting all children in New Mexico.

Phase i:
Expanding our Reach

We’ve reached our first milestone: opening a new building that increases capacity for 100+ students and meaningfully reduces our waitlist. Purpose-built classrooms and generous outdoor space now give students the room to learn, play, and thrive, while allowing our team to tailor environments to the unique needs of our programs. We’re halfway to our goal of completing all renovations and paying off the new property.

Rendering of the future May Teacher Institute — Phase II: The May Teacher Institute

Next, we’ll launch construction of the new May Teacher Institute—a hub for professional development that will bring our proven literacy practices to classrooms statewide and beyond. Your support now accelerates this critical next step.
Phase 2 focuses on the inauguration of the new May Teacher Institute building. This state-of-the-art facility will become a hub for professional development, offering comprehensive training programs for teachers across New Mexico. The institute will allow us to welcome teachers throughout the state and beyond, bringing our proven methodologies to classrooms beyond the May Center.

Phase III: Clinical Services — **On the Horizon**

Finally, we’ll complete the campus with a dedicated Clinical Services building, bringing assessments, therapy, and counseling together so families can access comprehensive support in one place.

ur vision encompasses not just academic success but the holistic well-being of our students and their families. The Clinical Services Building, the capstone of our campaign, will offer a full suite of clinical support services. From psychological assessments to therapy and counseling, this facility will ensure that comprehensive support is readily available, fostering a nurturing environment where children can thrive in all aspects of their lives. No longer will families have to travel the state from one provider to another to get their children the care they need. With our Clinical Services, learning, training, and diagnostics can now live in one location.
