Week of April 6

SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR THE REST OF THE SCHOOL YEAR

Distance learning classes will continue Monday-Thursday through Thursday, May 21.  We will have a regular school day on Monday, April 13.

SURVEY RESULTS

Thank you to all who filled out our distance learning survey.  Your feedback has been so helpful to us as we revise our remote offerings.  We will be inviting more feedback with another survey in a few weeks. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to send Stephanie your thoughts or concerns at any time.  Look for a letter from Stephanie today introducing changes to your student’s schedule that will begin next week.

THUMOS THURSDAYS

thumos : θυμός : a Greek word expressing the concept of "spiritedness"

May School will celebrate Spirit Day each Thursday for the rest of the school year, starting next Thursday, April 9, with Pajama Day. For this one day only, students can attend classes in their PJs!  Thanks to Lexi Schwade for this fantastic idea!

Future themes will be announced each week.

Social Clubs

First through eighth grade students had the opportunity to participate in social clubs hosted by May School staff this week. Social clubs gave students a much needed opportunity to hang out with friends outside of class time.  Conversations and sharings ranged from showing off family pets to discussing the latest modifications students have made to nerf guns and playing “name that song.”

Be on the lookout for more information on our next round of social clubs!

HOW TO TALK TO YOUR CHILD ABOUT COVID-19

Understood.org is one of our favorite go-to websites for many topics related to students with learning differences.  Here is a link to an article on understood.org concerning COVID-19.
