Owl Vision

Reading: This week in Jack’s Reading Room, students from Ms. Connie, Ms. Clementine, and Ms. Caitlin’s classes read “The Night Before Christmas” and colored different holiday-themed coloring sheets.

Ms. Lisa’s class continued their novel study of Because of Wynn Dixie and played a vocabulary game using words from the novel.

Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Nia, and Ms. Corrie’s students continued working on their readers’ theater performance of A Christmas Carol. At Friday assembly, they’ll perform their readers’ theater for each other and enjoy a Dickens-themed holiday party!

Art: This week with Ms. Brenda, the students continued working on their fairy houses and made cardboard roll holiday characters.

Science: This week, students combined science with gift giving! They made bath bombs using baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, coconut oil, and food coloring, with a choice of peppermint or lavender essential oil.

If you happen to receive this gift… It’s safe for the bath, but some kids may have used more food coloring than others, so be warned!

Some of the classes were also given a STEM engineering challenge dubbed Special Delivery Toy Drop, where they had to make parachutes to deliver “toys” while trying to land them safely and slowly onto the target.
