Annual Food Drive: Please send in canned and packaged food items for our annual student-led food drive in support of the Food Pantry at St. John’s.

Owls in the Wild: Our community bulletin board is ready to go up! Please email topa@maycenter.org or send in flyers with your child to let us know what events they’re participating in around the community!


Owl Vision

Science: This week, students made solutions of borax and boiling water to dip ornaments in and observe the crystallization process. The Intermediate classes also studied the electromagnetic spectrum.

Reading: This week in Jack’s Reading Room, students from Ms. Clementine and Ms. Caitlin’s classes read “The Three Snow Bears” and learned about sled dog racing!

Ms. Lisa’s class continued their novel study of Because of Wynn Dixie. Each student also selected their pet from The New Mexican Pet Calendar and set up a poll system for the rest of the school to vote on their favorite.

Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Nia, and Ms. Corrie’s classes continued working on their readers’ theater performance of A Christmas Carol.

Art: This week, the students continued working on their fairy houses and made beautiful snowflakes to decorate our hallway.
