 FOOD DRIVE

Next week May School will be hosting a "Drive-By Food Drive" benefiting the Bag 'n Hand Food Pantry.

Bag 'n Hand Food Pantry is a partner agency of The Food Depot.  Volunteers distribute much-needed groceries every Tuesday to approximately 170 households.  The need has risen sharply due to the effects of the pandemic.

 WHEN : Tuesday, 12/15 - Friday, 12/18.  Drop off items between 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

WHERE : St. John's United Methodist Church East entrance (church office doors, facing Old Pecos Trail).  Look for the shopping carts with the May School sign.

WHAT : Non-perishable food items.  Peanut butter, cans of tuna and chicken, and 32-ounce bottles of cooking oil are particularly appreciated.

Learn more about Bag 'n Hand Food Pantry here.

 SOIL STUDY

Thanks to our Intermediate teachers and RiverSource, several Intermediate students began an interdisciplinary study of soil health.  Soil health is critical for the resilience of communities, watersheds and wildlife. Students will participate in virtual and hands-on lessons to explore northern New Mexico’s unique acequia history and soils. We look forward to seeing the data they collect over the next several weeks.
