Owl Vision
Art: This week, the students worked with clay and made their own pots!
Science: Our Intermediate classes had a guest presentation from Calvin’s mom, Theresa, who’s a Pathologist! They examined a lot of different slide samples and learned about the important work a Pathologist does in identifying and treating diseases. They also dissected a crayfish and discovered that dissection isn’t for everyone!
The Elementary students continued to rotate through various building projects and the Lego Robotics kit.
Reading: This week in Jack’s Reading Room, Ms. Clementine’s class read two books about buses, Miss Leoparda and Last Stop on Market Street.
Students from Ms. Ellen’s class continued the next chapter in Judy Moody. Students from Ms. Lisa’s class began reading the Newbery Award-winning novel, The One and Only Ivan.
The Intermediate classes continued to read about Greek gods and goddesses, and Ms. Nia’s class also continued reading A Wolf Called Wander.
Movie Night
Thank you to the May Families Committee for organizing a successful movie night, and thanks to everyone who attended!
Around the Nest
This week, Ms. Caitlin’s class went for a hike, and Ms. Ellen and Ms. Lisa’s classes went ice skating.
While the Intermediate students were sad to end their winter sports, they went on an exciting field trip to the Roundhouse and were able to sit in on the morning’s legislative sessions.
Check out today’s issue of The New Mexican, featuring some of our Intermediate students!
Have a wonderful weekend!
