Winter Sports :
Ski + Snowboard

May School students enjoyed four trips up to Ski Santa Fe as part of this year’s Winter Sports program. Mornings were spent in lessons and afternoons offered free time. Some students had never ever skied or boarded before, while others shredded black diamond slopes.

We appreciate all of the parents who made this program possible by driving and chaperoning. Thank you!!

May School students shredded and schralped the gnar powpow.

Face the Classroom

Learning how to ask questions and listen to the answers is a crucial skill. Think of Face the Nation or Oprah Winfrey or Krista Tippett.

This week, students in Ms. Jennifer's class applied their sentence writing skills to crafting interview questions for their classmates. With questions in hand, they interviewed each other in pairs, listening to and recording the answers. They then presented their work to the class as a whole, rehearsing presentation skills.

Witnessing the students present to their classmates with confidence was a definite bright spot in the week.

Elementary Ice Skating

Students in Ms. Caitlin’s and Ms. Ellen’s classes will have their own Winter Sports experience with ice skating at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center ice arena. Students will have four sessions with an ice skating instructor over the next four weeks.
