Owl Vision

Art: This week, the students made little forest houses!

Science: This week, Intermediate students created “Wanted!” posters for various pathogens. Wash your hands! They are armed and dangerous!

Ms. Ellen’s class conducted the Glo Germ experiment and determined that 20 seconds of hand washing only removes some of the “germs.”

Students from Ms. Clementine and Ms. Caitlin’s classes conducted a “sticky ice” experiment where they learned how to pick up an ice cube with a string using a bit of salt and science. They also ran an experiment to see how fast they could get an ice cube to melt using various substances.

Reading: This week, students from Ms. Clementine and Ms. Caitlin’s classes read the books The Rainbow Fish, The Rabbit Listened, and The Invisible Boy. The classes then played a game where they acted out the characters in the books and completed an art activity.

Ms. Lisa’s class finished their novel study of Because of Wynn Dixie and, inspired by the friendships, created art projects where they drew their friends.

Ms. Ellen’s class read Where Butterflies Fill the Sky, which is a true story about a girl who had to leave her home in Kuwait with her parents, who settled in Albuquerque. Students then watched a video about Kuwait.

Students from Ms. Nia’s class continued their novel study of A Wolf Called Wander, and Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Corrie’s classes continued their novel study of A Bridge to Terabithia.

Around the Nest

This week, our Intermediate students participated in either skiing or our alternate program, where they went bowling! Ms. Clementine and Ms. Caitlin’s classes went on a field trip to Hyde Park and were delighted with a surprise snowfall.

Thank you to the many parent volunteers who made this happen!

Have a wonderful weekend!
