Owl Vision

Art: In Art this week, the Intermediate students made Illuminated Landmarks inspired by New Year celebrations from around the world. The Elementary classes were also inspired by these celebrations in their creations of fireworks using paint and salt.

Science: This week in Science, Ms. Clementine’s students explored what makes a cloud. Students from Ms. Caitlin’s class played the energy transfer game, “Mousetrap,” and Ms. Lisa’s students explored Lego Robotics. The Intermediate students began a unit on biology, learning about the different parts of cells and their functions using a microscope.

Reading: In Jack’s Reading Room, students from Ms. Clementine and Ms. Caitlin’s classes read Over and Under the Snow, a book about animals hibernating during the winter. They also colored different pictures of hibernating animals.

Ms. Ellen and Ms. Jennifer’s classes read Snowflake Bentley, a story about the man who discovered how to view snowflakes through a microscope. They then created their own snowflakes.

Students from Ms. Nia and Ms. Corrie’s classes read and discussed the Robert Frost poems “Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening” and “The Road Not Taken.”
