THANK YOU MS. BETSY
Ms. Betsy is a multi-talented teacher. While she is known this year for teaching a remote math and reading class, she has taught every subject with nearly every grade level at May Center. We are fortunate to have such a flexible and skilled teacher such as Ms. Betsy on our staff.
Here’s what her students have to say:
We love Ms. Betsy!
She helps me with my moon chart.
She gives me a hint about what the numbers are.
She is really nice.
She helps me do my problems in math.
She always comes up with good problems to help me with my math.
PHASES OF THE MOON
Speaking of Ms. Betsy...her math and science students have been studying the phases of the moon. They are tracking the moon through one full cycle which will take them to Spring Break. What a great way to count down the days to break!
Did you know last Saturday’s full moon was called the Snow Moon? The February full moon receives that name as it is typically the snowiest month of the year.
SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY
This week, Ms. Kathy’s homeroom students decided (on their own!) to spend two entire recesses clearing the sand off of the playground sidewalks. Thank you to each of you for working on this project!
CALLING ALL ARTISTS
Reading Quest Literacy is holding a book cover contest that is open to all students grades 1-12. Students can create their own book cover for a book they have read and enjoyed. Entries can be hand drawn or digital. Digital entries must include original images, no clip art or photographs taken by others. Cash prizes for top three winners!
Email entries by April 15th to readingquestcontest@gmail.com or text 505-920-9709.
