Week of March 29

Week Of March 29

Important Reminders

  • Please send your child to school with a water bottle. We are only able to use water fountains to refill containers this year.

  • April 2: No School - Spring Holiday

  • April 15: Community Seminar - Story Frames for Teaching Literacy Book Discussion

KAHOOT!

Kahoot! is a website that allows individuals to create their own quiz game.  It has quickly become a May School favorite for students and teachers alike, whether being played during an assembly or amongst friends in class.  Ms. Mich’s students are finishing their Ancient Greek unit.  Students studied a topic of their choice and created their own questions for a Kahoot! challenge.

PRESENTATION SKILLS

Ever wonder how many skills are involved in creating and presenting a research project?  At least 50 that Ms. Corrie has identified as her students are presenting a topic of ancient history from their Story of the World text.  These skills come from broader topics such as reading and marking text, use of MLA format, use of Google Slides, and oral presentation skills.  What a great experience for these students to have!

SPRING POEMS

Ms. Jamie’s elementary students continue to share their excitement with all things Spring. This week they have egg hunts and candy on their minds.  Check out what they have learned to do with technology and writing this year!

COMMUNITY SEMINAR: STORY FRAMES FOR TEACHING LITERACY BOOK DISCUSSION

STORY FRAMES FOR TEACHING LITERACY BOOK DISCUSSION

THURSDAY, APRIL 15, 6:00-7:00 PM, FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Join Story Frames for Teaching Literacy author Carolee Dean, M.S., CCC-SLP, CALT, and May Center Executive Director Amy Miller, who also authored a chapter in the book, in a discussion about the use of story frames as an effective way to teach writing.
