 May School “Hoot”

Week of May 5, 2025

Thank You!

You are aMAYzing! Thanks to your incredible support during our fundraising drive this week, we not only achieved our goal but surpassed it, raising a total of $278,731 in just 24 hours! That’s almost double what we have typically raised in this campaign.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and volunteered during this drive—it truly takes a village. We are so grateful to our families and we love our May Center community!

With gratitude, Ms. Amy and Ms. Annie

Owl Vision

Reading: This week, Ms. Clementine’s class read the book All Moms and created a Mother’s Day picture. They each loved talking about their own amazing moms!

Students from Ms. Caitlin and Ms. Ellen’s classes also read All Moms, as well as How to Raise a Mom, and created a Mother’s Day picture. Ms. Lisa’s class finished reading The One and Only Ivan, then played a word/picture game.

Intermediate students practiced performing Julius Caesar. They also finished writing their summer book recommendations and then shared them aloud with the class.

Art: In Art, the students created plaster casts of their hands or engaged in free choice.

Science: This week, the students launched “rockets” with a chemical reaction of Alka-Seltzer and water in film canisters. Intermediate students also graphed and analyzed data about a fictional town’s algae bloom and fish die-off problem, determining which possible pollution sources could be responsible.

Around the Nest

Our desert children were so excited to enjoy the rain this week!

Our Intermediate students had a blast at their school dance last Friday. Thank you to our parent volunteers for bringing snacks!

Have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend!
