Owl Vision
Science: This week, all of the classes conducted experiments on the science of sound. They investigated sound vibrations by making paper-cup-and-string telephones. The Intermediate students also created models of sound vibrations traveling through the air and learned about wavelengths.
Reading: This week in Jack’s Reading Room, Ms. Clementine’s class read the stories “Thank You Thanksgiving” and “Thank You for Me.” Ms. Caitlin and Ms. Ellen’s classes listened to “‘Twas the Night before Thanksgiving” and “One is A Feast For Mouse: A Thanksgiving Tale.” Students from Ms. Lisa’s class shared photos of their pets with the class as they continued to read Because of Wynn Dixie. Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Nia, and Ms. Corrie’s classes finished the novel Coraline this week.
Art: The students continued work on their Wayne Thiebaud-inspired dessert art. During art class, students are also encouraged to work on whatever inspires them! Ms. Brenda provides a weekly theme while encouraging the TAB philosophy—Teaching Artistic Behavior—which allows children to follow their own creativity.

Coming Soon: Owls in the Wild
New column coming soon: Owls in the Wild! Please send in information to Topa about your child’s extracurricular activities such as upcoming dance or theater performances, sports games, or chess matches. We will post these on our community bulletin board at school and also share in the “Hoot.” We look forward to supporting our community on- and off-campus!
We look forward to seeing you at Poetry+Pie tomorrow!
Have a wonderful weekend and Thanksgiving Break!
