upcoming dates
November 23-27: Thanksgiving Break
December 21-January 4: Winter Break
Thank you, Ms. Trudy
Whether teaching in person or remotely, Ms. Trudy can be found spending time during breaks or after school providing students with extra help on academic work or knitting projects. This week alone she worked with students after class to provide extra support and set up one-on-one time with students to help with their knitting projects. She extends this level of support to her colleagues as well.
Here’s what some of her students have to say:
“ I like the way she teaches math. It seems so much easier now.”
“Ms. Trudy is a really nice teacher. She is really good at helping me with my math because she explains things clearly and she's patient. I'm really glad she taught me to knit."
Thank you for being such a valuable member of our community, Ms. Trudy!
Social clubs
This week elementary and intermediate students had the opportunity to join our weekly social clubs. Intermediate students shared interesting items from around their houses, introduced family pets, and discussed their favorite math games.
Social clubs provide students with the opportunity to connect with one another outside of class time while also being supervised by May School staff.

Mindful Moment
Why Parents Need a Little Self-Compassion
Here are three practices to bring a little mindfulness and calm to your busy day.
Just two breaths of kindness. Start wherever you are—standing, cooking, washing dishes. Keep your eyes open.
Finding magic in the mundane. One thing that can help is learning to find moments of newness while engaged in our daily tasks of living.
Appreciating our hands. Sometimes it can be helpful to bring awareness and gratitude to everyday things that we take for granted.
