IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • Parent-Teacher conferences begin today, Friday, October 29, and continue Monday, November 1.
    **     There are no classes on Monday, November 1.

  • Monday, November 22 - Friday, November 26 : No School — Thanksgiving Break

  • There are no microwaves available at school for student use.
    Please send your child to school with a thermos or lunch that does not need to be heated. Thank you!

Self-portraits

Ms. Eleanor recently led students in creating self-portraits.

Students explored the relationship between drawing and the process of seeing and observing. They began with blind contour drawings, which is an exercise where an artist draws the contour or outline of an object without looking at the paper. From there, students learned about drawing facial features, proportions, and using person symbology for face masks.

The results are amazing!

fall Poetry

Fall in love with poems!

Each year at May School, excitement for all things autumn begins as soon as the pumpkins arrive. Students practice still life drawings … search for the perfect pumpkin to decorate or carve … and write poetry.

This year, Ms. Ellen’s students created their own indoor pumpkin patch of poetry inspired by fall themes.

Thank you to all the students and families that donated stuffed animals to support Afghan refugee children new to the United States. May Center collected 74 stuffies!

And a special thank you to May School student Elliot and his mother for delivering the donations to the University of New Mexico.

It’s a great idea to order these tests to have them on hand in case they are needed. 

Local Urgent Care Clinics Presbyterian Urgent Care, Entrada Contenta Urgent Care, Railyard Urgent Care, and other local urgent cares will see patients in person and conduct testing or make a referral; however, insurance co-pays and other costs may be involved.

Presbyterian Pediatrics Respiratory Clinic 257-4730 (**FREE) Established patients - will only refer for testing if symptoms have been present for 72 hours.

Note: CVS Minute Clinics in Santa Fe are no longer doing PCR testing. (PCR tests are available at CVS clinics in Albuquerque.)
