Owl Vision

Art: In Ms. Brenda’s class, the students worked on making flowers with chalk and pastels.

Music: Ms. Caitlin’s class enjoyed dancing to the song “Kalamazoo.”

Reading: In Ms. Connie’s class, Ms. Caitlin and Ms. Clementine’s students read a book about owls and then walked around the school on an “owl hunt.” Ms. Ellen and Ms. Lisa’s students got to read a fun and hilarious book about safety tips. Intermediate students read an article from The New York Times about the problem we have in the U.S. with an abundance of pennies. They then brainstormed solutions and next week will be writing a Letter to the Editor proposing their solutions!

Science: In Ms. Carol’s class, Ms. Corrie and Ms. Jennifer’s students partnered up for an archaeological dig simulation to align with their ancient history studies. Ms. Lisa and Ms. Caitlin’s students played a water polarity game and observed capillary action with a color walk lab. Ms. Clementine’s students discovered how water is a powerful dissolver and engineered boats to float against ever-increasing pennies.

Around the Nest

We had our first successful fire drill of the year! All the students evacuated the building smoothly and safely.

Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Nia’s classes working on their mood meters.

Ms. Carol works with Intermediate students for their SEE lesson. SEE reading lessons are conducted in very small groups with children of similar reading levels.

We hope to see you all at Pet Parade!
Have a wonderful weekend!
