Las golondrinas

No Chromebooks in this classroom.

Students in Ms. Gabriella’s and Mr. Scott’s classes visited El Rancho de las Golondrinas, a living history museum, this past week. One of the highlights was seeing the ranch’s livestock, including goats, sheep, and donkeys.

In addition to the visit, students researched other facts about Las Golondrinas and imagined where they would like to visit next. Tokyo, Swedish hot springs, and the Maryland oceanfront were all on the wish list. Where would you like to visit next??

Fun fact: las golondrinas is the Spanish word for swallows (the birds).

Elements of a story

Once upon a time…

Students in Ms. Jennifer's Language Arts classes were introduced to elements of a story this week.

To support their understanding of the elements of a story they were paired with another student to create a puzzle piece poster describing a story element. This project not only gave students an opportunity to work more deeply with story elements but also time to practice collaboration, communication, and leadership skills with peers.

Bravo, students!
