Join us for summer Leap
May Center for Learning is offering a distance learning Summer LEAP program this summer. Prevent summer slide, build foundational skills in reading, mathematics, and writing, and keep your child excited about learning. We provide online dyslexia therapy through our certified and accredited Sequential English Education program. Current May School families receive a discounted rate. Learn more and enroll your child!
Thumos Thursdays
This Thursday, April 30th is Share your Favorite Book Day. Students are encouraged to bring an early childhod or current favorite book to share with thier classmates on this day.
May School Authors
Pigeon books by Mo Willems are a favorite of children (and adults!) of all ages. In his books, Pigeon finds himself in a number of silly scenarios. Students in Ms. Megan’s class had the opportunity to create and read their own Pigeon book stories this week. Check out these amazing titles from her students:
Don’t Let the Pigeon Play with Slime by Eliana M
Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Red Semi by Clara L
Don’t Let the Pigeon Cook by Isabelle P
Don’t Let the Pigeon go to the Park by Apollo J

A VIEW OF OUR PRESCHOOLERS AT HOME
Even the youngest May School students are participating in at-home learning thanks to the great leadership of Ms. Daisy and Ms. Melia. Ms. Daisy meets with her students in one-on-one virtual sessions to practice reading, writing and math. It’s great to see students working with class materials while at home.
TEACHER CELEBRATION
Katie Rubin organized a birthday celebration for Ms. Daisy last weekend. Students and families surprised her with a visit to her house, while adhering to social distancing rules, to sing “Happy Birthday” to their beloved teacher. Thank you to all the families that helped make this day extra special for Ms. Daisy!
WEEKEND ENTERTAINMENT IDEAS
New Mexico Department of Health published an article last week sharing great opportunities for at-home family entertainment. Check out these amazing opportunities that our community is providing!
