Trail Club
Ms. Trudy and Ms. Corrie’s classes have taken on a new challenge this spring. They are using their morning and afternoon breaks to train for weekly hikes that increase in length and elevation gain. These structured breaks help clear the mind, energize the body, and increase overall health. Students will be setting and charting goals as they take on area trails. We look forward to updates as they accomplish their hiking goals!
EVERY KID OUTDOORS
Attention 4th and 5th graders!
Every Kid Outdoors is a national program that provides free access to National Parks and public lands to fourth graders and their family members for an entire year. This year, the program has been extended to 5th graders as they were unable to use their passes for a majority of last year. Passes are good through August 31, 2021. Want to explore more of New Mexico? Here are some in state parks that accept the pass:
Pecos National Historical Park
Bandelier National Monument
Petroglyph National Monument
White Sands National Park
Carlsbad Caverns National Park
Elephant Butte Lake State Park
Sign up for your child’s pass today!
"We come and go, but the land is always here. And the people who love it and understand it are the people who own it — for a little while." - Willa Cather
GREEK MYTHOLOGY
Students in Ms. Cailtin’s class have been studying Greek Mythology. Through their studies they are taking an in-depth look at character traits. When asked to name their favorite Greek character, they couldn’t decide on just one.
They like Medusa because she turns people into stone and has snake hair!
They like Hercules because he is strong, resourceful, smart and brave!
